Vijay Sethupathi is the busiest actor in South Indian cinema now. He has his schedule jam-packed for the next six months or so. His maiden straight Telugu film, Uppena was a magnanimous success at the box office. Following the blockbuster success of Uppena, Vijay Sethupathi was flooded with offers from top production houses in Tollywood. Many top producers offered sky-high remuneration to Vijay but he signed none of them, given his tight schedule. Vijay is now awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Labham, which is gearing up for theatrical release on the 9th of this month. The film is being dubbed and released with the same title in Telugu as well and Vijay Sethupathi is actively promoting the same.
In his latest interaction with the media, Vijay made an interesting revelation about Labham and this also involves Krithi Shetty who shared the screen space with him in Uppena. The star actor revealed that he rejected the proposal of pairing with Krithi Shetty in Labham and cited a fitting reason behind his decision.
"While I was shooting for Labham, the makers said they were planning to rope in Krithi Shetty for the female lead role in the film. At that time, Uppena was in the making as well. In Uppena, Krithi Shetty played my daughter. Incidentally, the makers of Labham were contemplating the idea of roping in Krithi Shetty for the female lead role to act alongside me. But I immediately turned down their advancements. How can I romance an actress who is playing my daughter in a film that is also be shot simultaneously? This would have been such an awkward experience. I rejected the prospect of Krithi Shetty playing my love interest in Labham," Vijay said.
Vijay really has a very valid point to back up his decision. He averted what could have been an embarrassing casting mishap. The makers then roped in Shruti Hassan for the female lead role in Labham. The film is now gearing up to hit the silver screens on the 9th of this month. As for Krithi Shetty, she is currently busy with RAPO19, Bangarraju, and a few other projects which are in various stages of production.
