Why Should We Remember Vijaya Nirmala For Her Accomplishments?

Today, there are many clichés in an actress's journey that she gets recognised by a casting agency or by a director and then gets a chance to live her Cinderella life in the matter of time. But they all have struggles to cope up from being ignored to be 'found'.

During the 1950's and 60's such stories were not as common as today. The filmmakers needed to be at the right spot at right time for actors to get their due recognition. Vijaya Nirmala stated her career as a child artist and with Panduranga Mahatyam, became highly popular.

But she never took acting as the full time career until someone said that she wasn't heroine material. She got her first chance in Malayalam movies and she created a sensation as an actor there.

Telugu and Tamil producers introduced her in their languages, with the same people who trashed her praising her Talent.

She then resolved to become director as well. She wanted to win the utmost respect people give on film sets and that is to directors. She observed many directors closely and never tried to assist any of them.

She getting married to Krishna was an event even both of them never thought off as both were married. But life happened and she married the love of her life.

She never left Krishna's side and as the leading pair she found huge success with Krishna only. Somehow they made a cute pair on screen and off screen too.

Krishna never discouraged her for anything and when she decided to direct, he was behind her all the while. During Meena, even a senior actor like Gummadi Venkateswara Rao had problems with her methods but Krishna stood in firm support of her.

Movie became a huge success and she proved that she is a talented filmmaker with Meena. Gradually, she started planning every genre movie with Krishna as hero and Guru Sishyulu with ANR, Krishna became her biggest success.

She did not make name for herself because she was Krishna's wife but she managed to surprise and impress everyone who underestimated her.

She stood firm on her beliefs and been a passionate person all through her life. She loved like no one, she aspired to become successful like no one and she attempted a feat that no woman ever achieved, getting into Guinness records as a director.

Her legacy will remain with many of Telugu Film people as she helped them in their personal lives as an iron willed softy. She was known for helping many without thinking twice, if they appeared to be genuinely in trouble and never disrespected anyone even though she had issues with them.

She needs to be remembered for being a pure example of woman grit and iron will for generations to come. May her soul rest in peace.
