Will Sony Pictures Try Their Hand In Telugu Cinema?

Update: 2019-08-01 07:48 GMT
Sony Pictures stopped producing Indian films a decade ago due to Sawariya, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali debacle. Disney too stopped production in India after some failures and in South they tried their luck with Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu and its failure sent them away.

Zee Studios is slowly looking to build a market for them in South and they haven't fully entered in Telugu. UTV and Reliance tried before to have a good market in Telugu.

UTV is now a Disney company and Reliance Entertainment has a deal with Nagarjuna. Even though Reliance failed before they are looking to bounce back.

Mahesh seem to be the target of these big International studios and UTV did release his earlier films. Now, Maharshi director, Vamshi Paidipally and Namrata Shirodkar are looking for a new studio collaboration for their next project, it seems.

Mahesh might want to take a share in future films but if he can welcome a big studio then the budgets and reach will automatically increase, is his thought process, it seems.

So, while PVP, Dil Raju are in discussions about the production of Vamshi's film, they might have to concede to Sony Pictures this film and look for next or go for a deal like Maharshi, it seems. Let's wait and see.
