Update: 2022-08-22 09:58 GMT
After some big setbacks in June and July, Telugu Film industry bounced back in August. 'Sita Ramam' and 'Bimbisara' which arrived in the first week turned out to be very good hits. Despite releasing on the same day, both the films performed well at the box office and end up in big profits.

While Nithiin's 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' ended up as a failure, Nikhil's 'Karhikeya 2' became a huge blockbuster by grossing over 70 crores already. All this month needs is for 'Liger' to end it on a grand note. Vijay Deverakonda's action entertainer is arriving on 25th August with huge expectations. The hype is so high on the film due to Vijay's craze and the non-stop promotions.

While there are no big releases anywhere in the country, a couple of small films are releasing on the same weekend as 'Liger'. The noted film of the lot is 'Kalapuram' made by Karuna Kumar who directed 'Palasa' and 'Sridevi Soda Center' before. Another movie named 'Gita' is coming on 26th August and Sunil is the only known face on the posters. On 2nd September, Sunil and Dhanraj's 'Bujji' is coming out.

Not one of them has a good buzz and many are wondering if they would get any screens or not. 'Liger' is a massive film with huge hype. A lot of screens will be given to this film in case these small films do not get the required reception. Also dubbing movies like 'Cobra' and 'Pisachi 2' are coming at the end of August. One doubts whether these small films opted for theatrical release or the OTT platforms forced them. What do you think?
