Will Venky Take Up 'Drishyam 2' Remake Now?

Update: 2021-02-09 06:52 GMT
Victory Venkatesh remade a lot of films from other languages in his career and scored hits. 'Drishyam' was one such memorable film and it was a remake of a Malayalam film with the same name. The original version has Mohanlal playing the lead and it was made in Tamil with Kamal Hassan, in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and as we know, in Telugu with Venkatesh.

Due to its gigantic success, the makers decided on coming up with a sequel. 'Drishyam 2' featuring the same cast was made and the trailer was recently released. It looks quite interesting and the director seems to have come up with a lot of twists and thrills once again. This Malayalam film will be releasing on Amazon Prime on 19th February.

With the second part coming, most of the heads are turning towards Venkatesh now. People want to know if Venky decides to remake the sequel or not. But sources say that the 'F2' hero is not interested in remaking the sequel and it is mainly because of its digital release. The OTT platforms have become very popular during the lockdown and through the help of subtitles, people are watching films from all the languages.

So, they may not have the same level of curiosity by the time they make the Telugu version. With no plan of remaking 'Drishyam 2', Venkatesh is focusing on his current projects like 'Narappa' and 'F3'. Sources say that he may team up with Tharun Bhascker soon.
