Some films fetch great TRPs for TV Channels despite ending as flops at the Box Office because of the Star Cast. Whereas, few others hardly manage to draw the attention of Television viewers inspite of the star-studded casting. Mahesh Babu-starrer 'Brahmotsavam' falls in the second category.
Producer PVP pocketed around Rs 10 crore with the sale of Satellite Rights prior to the release of 'Brahmotsavam'. Had if he sold the rights after the release, The situation would have been completely different. If the reports in circulation are true by any chance, Zee Telugu which acquired the Satellite Rights of 'Brahmotsavam' has been incurring losses every time the TV Premiere is being held.
Speculations are abuzz that Zee Management even contemplated on disowning 'Brahmotsavam' if the Producer is generous enough to return at least few crores of the Satellite Rights revenue. However, Producer is in no mood to entertain Zee because no other TV Channel would come forward to buy the Satellite Rights at this stage.
