Husharu 2 for Mahesh Babu’s Nephew: What’s Up?

Husharu was one of those unexpected winners back in 2018. A bunch of youngsters, a simple setup, relatable fun, interesting songs, made this no-star film click with the youths big time. And now, it looks like a sequel is in the works, and as per reports, none other than Mahesh Babu’s nephew Ashok Galla is stepping in as the lead for the movie. Sounds like a smart move, but for whom?

The bigger discussion here is about Ashok Galla himself. He made his debut with Hero, which had decent buzz but failed to convert at the box office. After that, none of his films really made an impact commercially. More importantly, most of these projects were backed financially by his own father, Jayadev Galla, which means the losses stayed within. Despite repeated setbacks, opportunities are still coming his way. His latest film ViSa, backed by Sithara Entertainments and shot extensively in the US, is also struggling to generate any real buzz. For a film mounted on a decent scale, the pre-release attention is quite low. Now, if he becomes part of Husharu 2, can he get the attention needed, forget about bringing the attention towards the film?

No doubt, Ashok Galla is managing to line up multiple projects despite not having a box office success yet. But one good success is required to carry the legacy of Krishna and Mahesh forward, youth entertainers will actually help him reach there. Let’s see what happens.
