Atlee is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in the Indian film industry today. His movies connect with people across the country and after the huge success of Jawan, there’s a lot of buzz about his future projects especially his new film with Allu Arjun. Atlee was recently honored with a doctorate degree by Satyabhama University in recognition of his contribution to cinema.

Atlee opened up about a big controversy during the event that he constantly faces in his career. He talked about the claim that his films are copies of other stories. Atlee addressed this openly and made it clear that there’s no truth to these rumors. He insisted that his films are not copies but are instead inspired by his own life and experiences.

“Generally audience says my films are copied but I’m telling the truth today. It is all inspired by my life. For example character Raayappan from Bigil was inspired by JPR sir. You have given me this doctorate, I promise I will make you proud and make our country proud,” Atlee said.

Atlee started his film career by assisting renowned filmmaker Shankar before making his debut with Raja Rani. Later, he teamed up with Thalapathy Vijay for a series of films. His last film was Jawan, which starred superstar Shah Rukh Khan and became a massive box-office success.
