Rather than going for his favourite composer Anirudh, who has scored the music for all of his movies so far, director Atlee has just shocked his fans by choosing Sai Abhyankar for his next, which happens to be Superstar Allu Arjun’s Raaka movie. But then, the theme music attached to the poster on some platforms is right now making heads turn. Here’s what the fans are saying about it.
While the poster’s theme, the human-beast design, body language, and overall tone suggest that this is going to be a very aggressive character, possibly on the darker side, the theme music composed by Sai Abhyankar, which is titled “Make way for the King”, is proving something else. The score has multiple layers of sounds, vocals and forest-centric sounding, and fits the gritty mood of the film. Some are even saying this track might have been originally planned for the glimpse that was expected earlier.
If you look at recent trends, strong character reveals have worked big time. Films like Kalki 2898 AD created buzz mainly through unique character design and world-building. Even Dhurandhar has capitalised on that with the first trailer in the same fashion, where all the characters are announced quite creatively. Definitely, the first impression of Raaka’s looks and soundscape is striking, but releasing a glimpse along with this music might have made a terrific impact.
On the other hand, director Atlee is getting huge praises from all quarters for daring to present Allu Arjun in that bald avatar as a beast, and that might win more accolades after the teaser/trailer hits the tinsel town.
