Other day, the production house of Natural Star Nani’s latest film “The Paradise” announced the new release date of the movie. After moving the film from a March 26th release date, initially avoiding a clash with Peddi, and then moving out due to the production delays, The Paradise was rescheduled for August 21st. While many appreciated this, people are now worried about why Nani’s makers are not worried about competition.
In fact, Superstar Rajnikanth has joined hands with acclaimed director Nelson” after his “Coolie” failed to appeal to all the sections of the audience. They are now coming up with the movie, “Jailer 2”, a sequel to their superhit film. Guess what, this film is also hitting cinemas on August 21st, but then Nani’s Paradise locked that date for a pan-India date. One wonders why Nani’s film is not even considering Rajnikanth’s movie as a competition.
Some trade analysts are saying that Rajnikanth’s Jailer is a big hit in Tamil Nadu alone, while the film has a good reception in Telugu states. Even if Jailer 2 releases on the same day, Nani’s The Paradise will not be threatened in Andhra and Telangana. At the same time, when it comes to the Bollywood arena, if Nani’s film is backed by a big distributor like Jio Studios, surely getting theatres is not a worry, and Jailer 2 is also not a competition there. So, The Paradise has no reason to think about Rajni’s film, unless Jailer 2 turns out to be a mindblowing blockbuster.
