Actress Leaves Films & Becomes A Buddhist Saint!

There were a lot of talented female leads during the 90s. They have shined bright during those times and left a lasting impression on everyone. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Divya Bharati, Pooja Batra, Nagma, Seema Biswas, Nandita Das, Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta and others are a few examples. Barkha Madan is one actress who competed with them all and proved her talent. She got a lot of recognition from the audience as well.

Right from her debut, Barkha got noticed by bigshot producers and directors. Her acting and beauty stole the hearts of many. She made a name for herself in the 90s and it is a very tough task. But the beauty achieved what she wanted and proved her mettle. But she surprised everyone by turning into a Buddhist saint and she is called Gyalten Samten now. She is an avid follower of the Dalai Lama and took up Buddhism back in 2012. She is living in monasteries and keeps sharing pictures of her spiritual life on social media.

She made her debut in 1996 with 'Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi' and featured alongside Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Rekha and others. She played the role of a ghost in RGV's 'Bhoot' and did multiple TV serials in the midst of all this. Her notable television works include '1857 Kranti....Rani Laxmibai', 'Ghar Ek Sapnaa ... Devika', 'Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar' and 'Nyaay'. Her last film was 'Surkhaab'.
