'Bedurulanka 2012': This clean hit starts making profits at the box office

While most hits take more than a week to enter the profit zone, Kartikeya's 'Bedurulanka 2012' achieved breakeven in just four days. On Monday (Day 4), it grossed Rs 1.30 Cr (approximately) in the Telugu States. Across all territories, including Overseas, the comedy entertainer is a hit.

Directed by Clax and produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, the film is Tollywood's 17th hit of the year 2023. Interestingly, the traction it has gotten at the box office continues to be praiseworthy. The hold on weekdays is strong.

Ajay Ghosh, Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Srikanth Ayyengar, 'Auto' Ram Prasad, Goparaju Ramana, LB Sriram, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Kittayya, Anithanath, Divya Narni and others have acted in the movie, whose music is by Mani Sharma. The film's subject deals with the point of people blindly believing in superstitions and getting exploited in the process. It is clever on the director's part to pick the island village as a premise. The way a conniving elderly man, a fake baba and a fake pastor form an alliance and deceive every person in the village is quite interesting.
