Another Hindrance For 'Indian 2'! It's OTT Now!

Right from the moment the movie started, everything went wrong for 'Indian 2'. The unfortunate accident, the mixed response for Kamal's makeup, the constant delays and differences between the director and producers increased the negativity on the film. 'Indian 2' arrived this month with decent expectations and it tanked very badly.

The movie did not get good collections and people criticised Shankar a lot for this below-par project. It turned out to be one of the biggest flops in both Shankar and Kamal's careers. The film was supposed to release on OTT platform soon but sources say that it got delayed as well. As per reports, 'Indian 2' managed to get only 81 crores at Indian box office. Along with overseas collections, the movie managed to get 146.5 collections during its theatrical run.

The movie's poor reception affected its market as the movie was made on 250 crores and more than 100 crores loss occurred for the producer and distributors. Netflix reportedly bought the streaming rights for 120 crores and the disastrous run at the box office is making them reconsider the deal. Apparently, a lot of OTT platforms are changing the deals based on their results. Netflix is demanding a lower rate for 'Indian 2' as people might not be interested in the movie. We need to wait and see if the film releases on OTT anytime soon or not.

Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar and others are playing key roles in it while Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer. Lyca Productions bankrolled this movie.
