Ustaad Bhagat Singh, featuring Pawan Kalyan in the lead, and the likes of Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna as the leading ladies, is hitting cinemas on March 26th after a lot of delay. Here comes director Harish Shankar, who shares interesting snippets around the movie.

Harish Shankar explained why the title was initially “Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh” and how it got changed to “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” finally. The director explained that based on the social media reactions to the initial title, they have decided to change the title with Pawan Kalyan’s permission.

“Bhavadeeyudu means ‘Yours Faithfully’, and Bhagat Singh is a powerful name; even Kalyan garu liked it immensely. However, with many Gen Z kids not understanding what Bhavadeeyudu means, we have tried to bring out the movie as a mass entertainer, with the hero’s college backdrop role turning out to be fresh. However, we have crafted the role with more of a cop’s character only, and that will be very fresh and interesting.”

Talking more about the dialogues, Harish Shankar stated that many of the dialogues reflect Pawan Kalyan’s personality in real life, then also related to the villains in the movie. “Despite perceiving it as an art form, cinema is a business, and audiences from all the political parties should enjoy the movie. We made sure that Ustaad Bhagat Singh will be enjoyed by people from all political outfits, but love Pawan Kalyan as a star” said Harish Shankar.
