This Christmas season, the cinema world witnessed a monumental clash at the box office between two blockbuster movies: Salaar and Dunki. Directed by Prashanth Neel and Rajkumar Hirani respectively, these films not only captured audiences' attention but also sparked intense rivalry among fans and stirred discussions within the Tollywood and Bollywood industries.

In a recent interview, Prashanth Neel, the director of Salaar, shed light on the heated Christmas box office clash between his movie Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Dunki, featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Prasanth Neel clarified that Salaar wasn't intended to compete with Dunki. He expressed dismay over the social media war between fans of the two films.

Prasanth Neel said that from the filmmakers' perspective, it's not about a 'war' but rather about coexisting, surviving, and collectively entertaining audiences. He discouraged engagement in negative sentiments, deeming it unproductive for the cinematic environment. Addressing rumors of manipulated Salaar collections, Prasanth Neel pointed out that such controversies might not have emerged without this clash.

There were speculations on Telugu Twitter implying that Prasanth Neel hinted at Shah Rukh Khan's team fostering negativity for Salaar. However, director clarified that he never made disparaging comments about any star or film. According to him, clashes between movies featuring major stars often breed such scenarios.

Despite the intense fan rivalry, both movies have performed remarkably well at the box office. Salaar grossed ₹460 crores worldwide in eight days, while Dunki amassed ₹340 crores in nine days, showcasing their individual successes amid the competition.
