Bollywood Going Mad With ‘Mad’ Comedies
Both these are mad comedies, which are really mad in terms of content, but are enthralling the audience with that silly and cringe comedy.
After “Dhurandhar” did well at the Bollywood box office, no other film has worked out well. Surprisingly, the film “Bhooth Bangla” featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead made around ₹300 crore comfortably. Again, that film got trashed for its mad comedy, but still, it worked. And in the last two weeks, it looks like only those movies are working out well.
After Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle ’, which was released two weeks ago (June 26) and minted ₹100 crore, now it looks like Ajay Devgan’s Dhamaal 4 is also doing the same. The film got a ₹15 crore collection on Day 1, after releasing yesterday (July 10). Both these are mad comedies, which are really mad in terms of content, but are enthralling the audience with that silly and cringe comedy.
At a time when high-budgeted movies like Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Alia Bhatt’s Alpha failed to enthral, and another film, Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna’s Cocktail 2, clicked due to the love people had for the first instalment of the film, but then, none had expected that these mad comedies would click.
However, if we look at the past, many times these mad comedies have clicked in Bollywood, and that’s how the likes of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan have built their careers in a big way. Now that these comedies are clicking, many are wondering if Bollywood will roll back to a lot of such movies again.
