The year 2025 was expected to be a grand one for Bollywood, especially with several sequels lined up for release. However, many of these highly promoted films ended up disappointing both fans and critics. Despite strong marketing and star-studded casts, the movies could not live up to the expectations, proving once again that hype alone cannot guarantee success.

One of the most awaited films was War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. With its action-packed trailers and social media buzz, audiences believed it would be a record-breaking blockbuster. While the film collected more than ₹300 crore, it fell short of the ₹500 crore benchmark that fans had hoped for. The result left viewers feeling underwhelmed, especially given the massive expectations from the franchise.

Another sequel that failed to deliver was Son of Sardaar 2. Marketed as a fun-filled comedy, it was supposed to bring back the same energy as the original. Instead, it turned out to be a weak attempt at humor, with audiences rejecting it outright. The film barely managed to collect ₹40 crore, proving that simply carrying a popular brand name does not guarantee theatre footfalls.

The latest in the list of disappointments is Jolly LLB 3, led by Akshay Kumar. Known for combining humor with strong social messages, the franchise had a loyal fan base. But the third installment failed to strike the right chord. Despite a relevant theme and Akshay’s presence, the movie has only earned around ₹78 crore so far.
