Looks like that didn’t go well with the audience, as it happened in the case of Sukumar’s Jagadam. What a coincidence this is.

Jagadam means fight, and currently director Buchi Babu Sana is fighting a horde of feminists every day who are accusing him and blaming him left, right, and centre for the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character in the movie “Peddi”. Guess what, the second film of his, the director’s guru, Sukumar, also faced similar controversies after the release. Here’s an interesting snippet about the same.

After starting on a high with the movie ‘Arya’, director Sukumar chose Ram Pothineni for his next, and made “Jagadam” with him. While the songs are terrific, the concept of the film, where a simple youngster wants to become a rowdy, is good; the characterisation of the heroine got massively trolled. She’s a smoker and has all the dark characteristics, and that didn’t go well a couple of decades ago. Similarly, after debuting with a beautiful love story like Uppena, where the heroine’s skin show is not even on the cards, Buchi Babu portrayed Janhvi Kapoor in his second film Peddi as more sultry and seductive. Looks like that didn’t go well with the audience, as it happened in the case of Sukumar’s Jagadam. What a coincidence this is.

On the other hand, Buchi Babu has already apologised to the people who didn’t like this part of the film, and he has cut down some scenes of Janhvi Kapoor. Many are wondering why people have looked at only the negativity in the movie rather than the positive aspects, including Charan’s acting prowess, emotional hook, and the climax part of the movie. That said, Peddi is doing exceptionally well at the box office by holding terrific numbers on Sunday, and is looking forward to an interesting Monday.
