Film producer Bunny Vas has recently spoken openly about the problems producers are facing in the Telugu film industry. According to him, the situation is not very encouraging and the impact may be clearly seen in the coming years. He said that the number of films releasing next year could be much lower than usual, especially small-budget movies.

Bunny Vas explained that most of the films released this year were actually started last year. Very few new films were launched in the current year.

However as per reports, this slowdown did not happen without reason. Rising production costs are one of the biggest problems. Expenses related to actors’ remuneration, technicians’ fees, locations, and post-production have increased heavily. For small producers, managing these costs has become extremely difficult.

Another major issue is the uncertainty in the market. Producers are not confident about box office results anymore. Even films with decent content are struggling to recover their investments. Because of this fear, many producers are choosing to wait instead of starting new projects.

Meanwhile Bunny Vas clearly stated that producers are being extra careful before investing money in new films.

He also pointed out that small films will be affected the most. Earlier, small-budget movies used to come regularly and some of them even became surprise hits. But now, due to lack of financial support and poor theatrical returns, many such projects are being postponed or completely dropped.

Because of all these reasons, Bunny Vas feels that 2026 may see fewer film releases. The industry might go through a quiet phase, with only selected big films moving forward.
