Legendary filmmaker Shankar is a name that needs no introduction. His movies in the 90s and 2000s were far ahead of their time. He introduced a lot of new technology to Indian cinema and his grandeur is something that no one could come close to for a long time. His movies always had strong social messages that inspired people.

His films starting from 'Gentleman' to '2.0' got huge collections even in the Telugu states. He is one of the most loved Tamil directors in the Telugu states. Such a director making a movie like 'Bharateeyudu 2' is something that fans could not digest. People turned against him which never happened before.

Though it is a Tamil film, the advance bookings were strong in Telugu states as well. Trade pundits claim that the openings in Telugu were almost equal to Tamil. This shows the love of the Telugu audience for Shankar. Such a beloved director making a film that is way below his standards is something that made his fans very angry.

All these trolls and criticism are because of the love towards the great filmmaker. More than anger, it is anguish. Seeing such a wonderful filmmaker's graph falling down in front of our eyes is very sad. Shankar's first film 'Gentleman' got huge applause from the Telugu public. His 'Premikudu', 'Bharateeyudu', 'Jeans', 'Oke Okkadu', 'Aparichitudu', 'Shivaji', 'Robo' and others were blockbusters. Even a film like 'Boys' which you don't expect from Shankar got a good reception in Telugu compared to Tamil. Even '2.0' had huge openings despite the film not meeting the expectations.

The audiences have not forgotten the happiness Shankar gave them with his films. He increased the standards of Indian cinema and we hope that he saves himself with 'Game Changer' by showing the kids who started watching films after 2010 what he is actually capable of.
