The censor board and the way it functions is something that the film industry is unable to understand. It gave 'A' certificate to 'Salaar' because of the excessive violence but gave 'U/A' to 'Saindhav' which shocked many. The trailer of the film showcased that the Venkatesh starrer action drama is filled with violent killings and bloodshed.

Now, Dhanush's 'Captain Miller' which is releasing during the Pongal season has completed its censor formalities. It was given 'U/A' certificate but reports suggest that over four minutes of footage from the movie has been chopped off by the censor board. The team gave the final cut with a runtime of 162 minutes but the censor has reportedly removed 4 minutes and 36 seconds from the movie. Apparently, a major part of those cuts were from the climax scene.

Insiders reveal that the censor members suggested the team to go ahead with the cuts if they need a 'U/A' certificate. This condition includes giving an 'A' certificate if they don't cut those suggested scenes. The makers decided to have the cuts and get a 'U/A' certificate which helps in getting more crowds to the theatres. Around 40% of the climax has been reduced as per reports.

Set in 1930-40s, 'Captain Miller' is going to be high on action and drama. Priyanka Arul Mohan is the heroine in the movie while Shivarajkumar did a significant role. Sandeep Kishan was a part of this movie. GV Prakash is the music composer of this movie. Madhan Karky has penned dialogues for the Tamil version of the movie. Arun Matheswaran is the film's director. The movie is presented by T.G. Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan.
