Thandel starring Yuvasamrat Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi has huge anticipation with its songs becoming chartbusters. As the release date, 7th Feb, is coming closer, the movie team has intensified promotions. Director Chandoo Mondeti shared few interesting insights about the movie and its making.
He shared presenter Allu Aravind, at first felt that the story is like a documentary. Chandoo revealed that he connected to the core idea and wanted to make it an action film. But then he slowly understood that the core emotion is stronger between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi characters and developed it into a romance.
Later he said, "I decided that some other director will direct it but I would just be the writer for this film and I narrated the script to Naga Chaitanya. He heard it completely and saw passion towards the film in my eyes. He told me that I should consider directing it as my passion towards this story is clearly evident."
He continued, "Not just that, everyday during shoot, Chaitanya used to be so in character and focused that I felt like he took it as a challenge. He even sat with me in writing along with Sai Pallavi, Allu Aravind, Karthik, Bunny Vasu. He belived in this script and me so much more than even I did at every moment."
Chandoo also revealed that it is his conscious decision to not make the movie another jingoistic patriotic film rather a strong romance between two very strong characters. He also stated that the stromy sea episode came later into the script as he felt that Interval point would enhance the film, further.
He expressed great confidence in the film as he watched it many times. He stated that he could not believe himself that he could write such a striking romance. He thanked Allu Aravind and Bunny Vasu, mainly, Naga Chaitanya for making Thandel, how it shaped out to be. He asked audiences to anticipate a great romantic tale that would last with them even after watching the film.
