Did All This Hype Help in Theaters?

Actor Prabhakar’s son Chandrahaas calls himself Attitude Star and used a cuss-word song to grab attention, which has now become a point for police cases and media debates. Amidst this engineered hype, his film Barabar Premista was released in theatres the other day. Did all this hungama help him get any big crowds to theatres, and did the movie work out, is the moot question now.

In fact, the film Barabar Premista is routine to the core with some twists, and an inter-caste love-based movie. For its routine content, the film got slammed by critics and the audience alike. Moreover, though Chandrahaas tried to impress with his antics, Telangana slang, and fights, nothing worked out much. At the same time, the overdose of glamour from heroine Meghna Mukherjee in this village belle role is another negative.

On the whole, the film isn’t winning the hearts of the youths who will always unfurl redcarpet for love-themed movies. Some are even advising that Chandrahaas should have focused on his acting mettle and script selection rather than creating unwanted buzz with his crazy acts at promotional events. No matter how you promote a film, at the end of the day, the content speaks for itself.
