Chiranjeevi’s Next: Director Hit or Phatt?

Can this really happen? It is being said that Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj has written a story for Megastar Chiranjeevi. Reports say that he has already narrated the story to Chiranjeevi. But Chiranjeevi has not taken a final decision on the project yet.

If this project really happens, it will be an interesting combination. Karthik Subbaraj is one of the directors who has his own style. His films usually have a different story, strong characters and a fresh treatment. He is also known for taking risks with his stories.

But there is one interesting point here. Karthik Subbaraj has mostly seen success when he worked with young and fresh heroes. Films like Pizza and Jigarthanda gave him a strong name as a director. His recent film Dorothy has also created interest among movie lovers.

But when he worked with big star heroes, the result was not always the same. He directed Rajinikanth in Petta. The film had huge expectations because of the combination, but it did not become the massive blockbuster that many expected.

Karthik Subbaraj also worked on Jagame Thandhiram. The film had Dhanush in the lead and was expected to create a big impact. But the movie received a mixed response and did not become a major success.

His recent film Retro with Suriya also failed to reach the expected level. The film had a big hero, a stylish presentation and a lot of expectations. Still final result was disappointing for many fans.

Because of this track record, a Karthik Subbaraj and Chiranjeevi combination may look a little difficult on paper. Chiranjeevi is a huge star and his fans expect a strong commercial film with good entertainment.

But we cannot completely reject the combination. If Karthik Subbaraj comes up with a very suitable story for Chiranjeevi, things can change.

But for sure Chiranjeevi has to take more concentration on script and has to accept. Because either this combination can deliver a blockbuster or utter flop.
