Bollywood's Senior Star Joining Hands With Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next is not making noise for now, but it looks like director KS Bobby is looking forward to building curiosity quietly. #Mega158 with Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli was supposed to start with a clean launch back in March 2026 only. Instead, it got pushed because of the Jana Nayagan release troubles for the producer KVN Productions. The film never needed a flashy start anyway, because Chiranjeevi wants the script to be right first.

That said, the buzz is coming from inside, and that’s where things get interesting. There’s strong talk about a crucial cameo in the movie, which needs a hero with a strong screen presence. Imagine the kind of cameo senior star Venkatesh did in Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu. A proper character that comes in the climax and shifts the narrative. Even director Bobby did a similar thing in Waltair Veerayya too, bringing in Raviteja for the brother role. And now, the name being discussed is Anil Kapoor for #Mega158, as director Bobby felt that adding a Bollywood star would bring out more vibe.

On paper, this looks like a smart move; however, this is also a big risk if we have to say. Telugu cinema has used the “big cameo” trick many times. It trends before release, but it fades after release. Unless that character is rooted in the story, it becomes an attention-grabbing act, rather than a cameo that could help sell more tickets.

Earlier, KS Bobby got the box office relief, but then it was criticised that Daaku Maharaj missed out on that novelty in the story, while Waltair Veerayya got saved by some mass elements, rather than the story. This time, he’s looking forward to get things right.
