Already its more than 2 years that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara is in the making. Till now, there’s no sign of when the film is actually hitting cinemas. Directed by Vassishta of Bimbisara fame, the film’s poor VFX led to a major backlash on the teaser that was released more than a year ago. Since then, the film is in the post-production only. And now, the film had undergone a major technical change.

Reports are coming that the Vishwambhara team has brought in Hari Gowra to handle the background score, while keeping legendary Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravani in charge of the songs. On paper, it looks like a simple division of work. But in reality, this is a very strategic move.

Because Viswambhara isn’t a regular commercial film. It’s mounted as a fantasy-heavy, VFX-driven spectacle where the background score does half the storytelling. And that’s exactly where someone like Hari Gowra fits in. His work in films like HanuMan and Mirai proved that he delivers elevation and emotional highs in larger-than-life setups.

At the same time, retaining Keeravani for songs ensures the musical soul doesn’t get diluted. Now that Vishwambhara has split responsibilities to get the best of both worlds, we have to see if that works in the movie’s favour.

Interestingly, Hari Gowra has already started working on the re-recording. That indicates the makers are giving serious importance to post-production, in a bid to lock the release date real quick. Already the film is hugely delayed, so when’s it hitting the cinemas?
