After the introspective period following the failure of "Bhola Shankar," Megastar Chiranjeevi has become quite cautious about his upcoming film projects. Director Kalyan Krishna, who had previously committed to a project with Chiranjeevi (with his daughter as the producer), has currently put it on hold. The news came as a big shock to everyone. It is leaving the fans clueless about Chiranjeevi's action plan amidst criticism that he is not playing his age on the screen.

However, efforts are being made to expedite the production of Mega 157, directed by Vashishta, which had initially planned to start a bit later. Scheduling is underway for regular shooting to commence in November. Meanwhile, the film's casting of the female leads needs to be finalized. But, this is not enough because Vashishta is not a star director and the project would only help him grow as a director but may not give the much-needed push that Chiranjeevi requires at this point in his career.

On the other hand, there have been speculations among fans about the possibility of a collaboration between Chiranjeevi and one of the star directors of the movie industry.

Boyapati Srinu has hinted at a collaboration with Chiru during the pre-release event of Vinaya Vidheya Rama. At the same time, Trivikram also confirmed that he would be collaborating with Chiranjeevi. The new reports say that Trivikram will direct the sequel of Khaidi but it is unconfirmed. With Boyapati yet to announce his next film, the sources say that he is also one of the front-runners to direct Chiranjeevi's next. Either of the two directors will be a good choice for Chiranjeevi but now, we are also hearing that Sukumar is in the race to grab a film with Chiranjeevi.

Sukumar, currently occupied with "Pushpa 2: The Rule," is expected to have some free time in the summer of 2024, especially after the movie's release on August 15th. He has not committed to working with any particular hero for his next project, and rumors suggest that he is showing interest to direct Chiranjeevi.

Sukumar and Chiranjeevi have maintained a connection despite not frequently appearing together in public. Sukumar even reportedly provided inputs during the time of "Godfather," and Chiranjeevi has expressed his admiration for Sukumar on various occasions. Although Sukumar is planning a film with Ram Charan, he has reportedly indicated that if he has to choose between the father and the son, he would prefer to work with Chiranjeevi.

While it remains unconfirmed whether this is just a rumor or a factual development, the possibility of it coming to fruition cannot be dismissed.

On the whole, the situation looks very bleak now and Chiranjeevi is keeping his fans guessed about his next film.
