Comedian Praveen Turns Hero with Surprise Role

Popular comedian and character artist Praveen is now stepping into the shoes of a hero for the very first time. He will be seen in the lead role in a horror-hunger-comedy film titled Bakasura Restaurant. Directed by SJ Shiva, the movie features other known names like Viva Harsha, Krishna Bhagavan, Shining Phani, and KGF Garudaram in important roles. The film is produced by Lakshmaiah Achari and Janardhan Achari under the SJ Movies banner and is set for release on August 8.

Speaking during the film’s promotions, Praveen opened up about his role and what makes it special. He said that the story mainly revolves around five key characters. Praveen plays Paramesh, a character that not only provides laughs but also brings emotional weight to the story. He shared that portraying a character who deals with hunger in a demon-like way was both funny and moving. Especially during the climax, the story shifts into an emotional zone that reflects how painful it is when someone dear leaves your life.

Talking about his shift from comedian to lead actor, Praveen admitted that taking up a main role was not easy. Since the story depends heavily on his character, he felt the pressure. He added that though many believe comedians rarely succeed as heroes, he is just focused on doing the role sincerely. He will continue to act in films like Vishwambhara, Ustad Bhagat Singh, and others.

Praveen also revealed that Sirish garu watched the film, liked it, and suggested a few changes in the editing. They accepted the suggestions, and now Bakasura Restaurant is getting a release under the Dil Raju banner.
