Coolie And War 2: Game Over Or Still Life Left?

The Indian cinema witnessed one of its biggest clashes at the box office in the form of the coming together of superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Jr NTR’s War 2. Both the films had a decent start at the box office, but both of them have been struggling to gain momentum at the ticket counters after the released.

The issue here is that both the films failed to manage to get unanimous response, and that is showing when it comes to the theatrical run after the opening weekend.

Both the films could not make the most of these Sunday holiday season as there were no significant jumps when it comes to the box office revenue.

As of yesterday, the box office reports have been suggesting that the Rajinikanth film had managed to gross in the range of ₹300 crore. On the other hand, we have the junior NTR film, which reportedly managed to gross in the range of ₹200 crore.

These numbers are satisfactory by themselves when it comes to the larger picture, considering the kind of investments that are in place for these films, the returns might not fully fruitful.

The most important challenge for both these films is going to be holding the momentum over the first Monday, which is going to be a pretty significant task. It has to be seen if either of these films would be able to stay in the light, even on the first Monday or whether they would be crashing so badly that the theatrical run would be over.
