First Look: Crazy Hero Upendra Turns Kaleesha For 'Coolie'!

Lokesh Kanagaraj is creating something huge with his upcoming film 'Coolie'. It is one of the most-awaited projects in Kollywood right now. The combination of superstar Rajnikanth and Lokesh itself is generating a lot of hype on this project. The shooting is underway and Lokesh is looking to make this film as big as possible through his casting as well as technical quality.

We have already seen the team announcing King Nagarjuna's inclusion in the cast. He plays the role of Simon in the film and his look got a terrific response. Soubin Saahir as a part of the film too and he plays the role of Dayal. Satyaraj will be seen as Rajasekhar while actress Shruti Haasan becomes Preethi in this crazy project. But the biggest announcement came out recently when they revealed that Kannada superstar Upendra is going to play a crucial role in this flick.

He will be seen as Kaleesha and we can see him sporting an intense look. The red bands on his hand and neck are signified in the poster along with blood stains on his fist. The expectations have gone to the next level with Upendra's involvement in this project and the viewers are now curious to know more about this pan-Indian action flick.

Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer. It is Rajnikanth's 171st film and Girish is the director of photography. Philomin Raj is the editor of the movie which is planned for release in 2025. The movie is being bankrolled by Sun Pictures. It has been made clear that 'Coolie' is not a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
