Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been in the spotlight since June due to allegations of involvement in a murder case. The actor, along with his rumored girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, was arrested in connection with the killing of Renuka Swamy. Recently, the Karnataka High Court issued an interim order restricting media outlets from reporting on the details of the charge sheet in this case.

The order, passed by Justice Hemant Chandangoudar on September 10, was in response to a petition filed by Darshan, who is listed as the second accused in the case. The court has prohibited media organizations from publishing, broadcasting, or sharing any confidential information from the charge sheet related to crime number 0250/2024, which is being investigated by Kamakshipalya Police Station. The court also warned that appropriate legal actions would be taken if the media violated this order.

Meanwhile, Darshan and the other accused have not received any relief, as their judicial custody was extended by three days on Monday. Initially, the custody was set to end on September 9 but will now continue until September 12. Both Darshan and Pavithra have been in judicial custody since June 11.

Reports suggest that the victim, Renuka Swamy, was a fan of Darshan. However, things took a dark turn when Swamy allegedly made insulting remarks about Pavithra Gowda, accusing her of damaging Darshan’s marriage. These tensions reportedly escalated, leading to the tragic murder.

Renuka Swamy's post-mortem report revealed that he was subjected to brutal torture. His body showed multiple bruises, his ear was missing, and he had severe injuries to his body, including ruptured testicles. According to the police investigation, Darshan is believed to have played a direct role in the assault that led to Swamy’s death.
