Dhanush's Idli Kottu Trailer: A Tale of Roots, Ideals, and Emotions

National Award-winning actor Dhanush is back in the spotlight with his upcoming film Idli Kottu, which he has also directed. After the roaring success of Kuberaa, the versatile star is ready to serve audiences another cinematic treat, and the freshly released trailer has already struck a chord.

The trailer introduces Dhanush as a brilliant chef at a star hotel, whose expertise drives profits to new heights. Yet, despite success, he longs for something deeper. Choosing heart over ambition, he abandons his lucrative career to return to his village and revive his father’s humble eatery, Idli Kottu. But his journey is anything but easy—opposition, challenges, and a clash of values await him.

GV Prakash Kumar’s stirring background score intensifies the emotions, while Dhanush’s nuanced performance brings both power and vulnerability to the role. Supported by strong turns from Arun Vijay and Nithya Menen, the film promises a layered story about family, tradition, and the struggle of ideologies.

Produced by Akash Baskaran and Dhanush under Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films, Idli Kottu marks Dhanush’s fourth directorial venture. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release in Tamil and Telugu on October 1, with Telugu rights acquired by Ramarao Chintapalli for a record price under Sri Vedakshara Movies.
