Like we said it already, as there are no Telugu films to cater to the Summer 2026 needs of the Telugu audience, dubbed films are taking the spot big time. First comes May 1st, the upcoming weekend, and we have almost a bunch of dubbed and direct films hitting the cinemas.

While there are films like Tarun Bhaskar’s Gayapadda Simham and Satya’s Jetlee, directed by Mathu Vadalara maker Ritesh Rana, coming on May 1st, they will be joined by the Malayalam film Patriot that features Mammootty and Mohanlal, along with Fahad Fasil and Nayanthara. Sai Pallavi’s Hindi debut Ek Din, where she got paired with Amir Khan’s son Junaid as the leading lady, is getting a Telugu release with the title Oka Roju and is releasing on the same day. More than all these movies, however, Dhanush’s Tamil film Kara is arriving a day earlier on April 30th. Here comes the show now.

After the trailers of all these films got released, Kara seems to have an uncanny advantage over everyone because it happens to be an action film with loads of emotion. Also, the plot looks simple like all other films in the May 1st race, but Dhanush's aggressive acting prowess is creating a lot of charm around the movie. With star Telugu films missing from the summer, theatres need content, and as of now, it looks like Dhanush has a terrific advantage. If the talks come out well on Day 1, surely the film will hit it out of the park.

Even Dhanush is expecting that he will revive his fortunes at the Telugu Box Office after how the film Tere Ishq Mein worked out well with the Telugu version as well, though it’s not even promoted well here.
