With just a month away from the release, already there is huge hype around the movies, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 and Yash’s Toxic, as they are heading for a head-on clash on March 19th. However, it looks like one of them is unlikely to reach the deadline and hit the cinemas as promised.

As per the buzz coming up, after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation warned of blacklisting Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios for violating rules when it comes to filming in Mumbai city, a lot of shooting got pending. They are supposed to shoot a high-profile action sequence and an important sequence in high-security South Mumbai’s Fort Area, but now that the permissions are not coming, they are unable to wrap it. Only if things go smoothly and Aditya Dhar wraps the shoot, the film will hit cinemas on March 19th as planned, say insiders.

IN that case, Yash’s Toxic, directed by lady filmmaker Geethu Mohandas, will have a solo release across India in almost 4-5 languages, without any competition at all. That will surely give a massive edge to Toxic, as there will be lots of theatres available for the movie in the absence of Dhurandhar 2’s release. Toxic will reap all the fruits as the Telugu film Peddi also moved out of the competition. Meanwhile, the makers of Toxic have just spent ₹25 crores more to reshoot some key scenes, which the director thought should be made in another way. That’s how much the producers are betting on the film.

For now, there is no official confirmation about the postponement of Dhurandhar 2, while Toxic locked the teaser release date of the film for tomorrow (Feb 20th).
