Netflix Messes Up With Dhurandhar: Fans Firing!

Netflix had one of its biggest releases in recent times in the form of Dhurandhar, which has Bollywood star Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The film released in theatres and turned out to be a mega blockbuster and premiered on Netflix last night in multiple Indian languages.

Netflix has landed in the middle of a major backlash following the OTT release of Dhurandhar, with audiences across platforms expressing clear disappointment and frustration.

The film, which enjoyed a strong theatrical run, was expected to arrive on streaming in an uncut or extended form. Instead, viewers were surprised to discover that the Netflix version is actually shorter than what they watched in cinemas.

The theatrical version of Dhurandhar had a runtime of around 3 hours and 34 minutes. However, the version currently streaming on Netflix runs for approximately 3 hours and 25 minutes, meaning nearly ten minutes have been further trimmed.

This has shocked fans, especially since OTT releases are generally known for offering fuller edits rather than additional cuts.

Social media reactions have been sharp and consistent. Many viewers pointed out that certain intense scenes and dialogues appear to be muted or removed, diluting the raw impact of the film. Fans are questioning why an adult rated film that played uncensored in theatres needed further modification on a platform meant for mature audiences.
