Not Released In Pakistan, But Still A Blockbuster
Pakistani theatres, nor is it available on OTT platforms yet, data indicates that the film’s piracy version has been downloaded over 20 lakh times in Pakistan alone.;
Slowly emerging as a trendsetter with over ₹700 crores gross collection from the worldwide Box Office, Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is creating waves. Despite not being released in Pakistan, the film’s a blockbuster there too, and how.
Ever since India-Pakistan relations have been strained, Bollywood films have not been getting released there. After the Pahalgam Terror Attack, even the unauthorised release of Indian films is not happening in the terror-backing country, while Pakistani actors are not allowed on Indian soil anymore. Then came Dhurandhar, a film that dealt with India’s covert action in Karachi, Pakistan.
Though the film is not released in Pakistani theatres, nor is it available on OTT platforms yet, data indicates that the film’s piracy version has been downloaded over 20 lakh times in Pakistan alone. That indicates the massive interests of the viewers there, despite the film antagonising Pakistanis as the main perpetrators of the terror attacks that happened in India.
Starring Ranveer Singh in the titular role, Dhurandhar got acclaimed for the performances of Akshaye Khanna as Rahman Dakait, and the film’s songs have become a talking point. With memes, viral joke videos, and dance reels surrounding the film becoming a world phenomenon, it looks like even Pakistanis are watching the movie big time.
While Part 1 of Dhurandhar got released on December 5th, 2025, the makers announced that Part 2 will be spearheading to theatres on 19 March 2026.
