Dhurandhar Inches To ₹500 Cr - This Release Still Uncertain?

On its 12th day at the Box Office, Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar’s latest outing, blockbuster Dhurandhar, has clocked nearly 28 crores nett. The film hit cinemas on December 5th, almost without any promotional stunts.

Despite all the criticism and allegations that it is a propaganda movie, the patriotic outing has impressed moviegoers big time, and it has already collected over ₹400 crores and will be joining the mighty ₹500 crores club soon. Will that make the Telugu audience happy, or do they need to wait forever to catch this blockbuster in theatres?

A strong rumour doing the rounds is that December 19th will be the release date of the Dhurandhar Telugu version, with Allu Arvind taking care of the distribution of the film through Geetha Arts. Downside is that, on the 19th, the world is going to witness the mighty third instalment of “Avatar” as the film franchise’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is hitting cinemas.

With the family audience and kids loving to rush to this movie, Dhurandhar has to cater to its ‘A-rated’ audience only. Even if the Telugu version releases on 19th alongside Avatar 3, it will get the same attention that it is enjoying at Bollywood ticket counters is uncertain.

On the flip side, there is confirmation yet over the Friday release of Dhurandhar at the Telugu box office, while most of the Telugu folks from Top top-tier cities have already caught up with the Hindi version. They would have released the Telugu version alongside Hindi on the 5th itself, to make the most of this craze.
