In an industry where wins and losses are usually kept behind the scenes, Dil Raju has chosen to speak up, and it’s not just numbers he’s revealing. While promoting his latest film, Thammudu, the senior producer opened up about the financial rollercoaster he experienced earlier this year. With Game Changer failing to deliver despite the hype, the losses hit hard. But according to Dil Raju, it was Ram Charan’s timely support that helped stabilize the situation.

Dil Raju didn’t shy away from admitting just how tough it got. “Even before the release, I sensed Game Changer might not meet expectations,” he said. At the same time, he saw promise in Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, a film starring Victory Venkatesh. When he approached Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan with a request to release both films during the same festive window, they gave him the green light. That decision turned out to be a financial lifesaver.

The gamble paid off. Sankranthiki Vasthunnam became a festival hit and helped recover nearly Rs. 100 crore in losses from Game Changer. Raju went a step further, he redirected the profits from Sankranthi Vasthunnam to support distributors who had taken a hit on Game Changer. “I didn’t take a rupee from it. It all went back to the people who trusted me with distribution,” he revealed. In an industry where recovery often means moving on, Raju’s move was rare and widely appreciated.

Behind the scenes, Ram Charan’s quiet nod made a huge difference. Without his agreement, the dual release wouldn’t have happened, and the financial setback could’ve been much worse. “It’s because of Ram Charan that we managed to float through the storm,” said Dil Raju. Not every star steps in at the right moment, but when they do, it changes more than just box office numbers, it saves futures.
