Ace producer Dil Raju is known for many bold decisions that worked out for him big time in the past. But in recent times, his moves are a bit tumbling, though his decision to give up on the full rights of The Paradise proved to be fruitful for him, as the film ended up as a loss-making venture for many distributors. Now that Raju acquired the rights to “Ramayana Part1”, he’s playing a masterstroke to make the most on Diwali eve.

As Ramayana Part 1 is hitting cinemas on November 5, 2026, in languages like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, the makers are already promoting the film quite aggressively. At this juncture, Dil Raju, the Telugu distributor of the movie, felt that the movie shouldn’t even go for ticket hikes, though it’s made with 100s of crores. Raju is said to have felt that Ramayana is a tale that would be watched by millions irrespective of word of mouth; hence, he doesn’t want to hike the prices and cut the footfalls.

Well, if the film is good, surely that decision will pay off big time, as lower ticket prices always attract a majority of footfalls into theatres. But if the film doesn’t do justice to the hype, then things might go for a toss. Recently we have seen how lowered ticket prices helped Irumudi score two hundred crores, while another recent release haven’t eve collected more than ₹60 crores though there are no ticket hikes. In the end, content matters and hope Ramayana is gonna serve it.
