Sankranthi is always a very special season for the Telugu film industry. Every year, big star films arrive during this festival, and there is strong competition for theatres. Producers and distributors carefully plan their releases because Sankranthi decides box office rankings and audience attention. In such a busy season, even a small decision can lead to major debates among fans and film circles.

A few years ago, a similar situation created huge controversy. When films starring senior Telugu stars like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna were lined up for Sankranthi, producer Dil Raju released Varisu, starring Vijay, in a big way in Telugu states. Since the film got a large number of theatres, many Telugu movie fans felt unhappy. They accused Dil Raju of giving more importance to a dubbed Tamil film over straight Telugu films.

Now, in 2026, the same discussion has started again. This Sankranthi, nearly five Telugu films are ready for release. At the same time, Vijay’s new film Jana Nayakudu is also expected to hit theatres. Because of past experiences, people started wondering whether Dil Raju would once again support Vijay’s film during the festival season.

However, Dil Raju has now put an end to these rumours with a clear and shocking post. He shared an official poster listing only the Sankranthi releases coming from his SVC banner. According to the post, only Telugu films will be released under his banner for Sankranthi 2026. The list includes films starring Chiranjeevi, Sharwanand, and Naveen Polishetty. Notably, Vijay’s film is completely missing from this list.

This made things very clear. Through this post, Dil Raju indirectly confirmed that he has no connection with Vijay’s Sankranthi release this time. Meanwhile, other big films like Prabhas’ The Raja Saab and Ravi Teja’s upcoming film are also in the Sankranthi race.
