His judgement is rated quite highly but many experts make mistakes at times. There were films that sounded great on paper but ended up being disasters when they arrived on the bigger screens.

Dil Raju is famously known for catering to the family audience by making sure that the family emotions and love are in abundance. But his own productions like ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam' and ‘Thank You' turned out to be huge failures. This year, he arrived with Vijay Deverakonda's ‘Family Star'. He spearheaded the promotion of the film as well. He hoped that the middle-class emotions would work well with the viewers.

But ‘Family Star' turned out to be a disaster and got a bad response from the morning shows on the first day. It did not pick up after even though a few praised the movie afterwards. It turned out to be a disaster and Dil Raju too ended up in heavy losses due to this movie. But sources say that Dil Raju devised to new plan to recover the lost money. There is a chance that the digital rights might bring back some money. To recover the rest, sources say that ‘Family Star' will be out on a rental basis before arriving for free on the OTT platform.

Hollywood films are following this path even today. Streaming apps release English films on a rental basis. But we need to see how the audience embraces this idea. Dil Raju is hopeful that this film will be loved by the families. He says that the negative talk had stopped the family audience from stepping into theatres before.

This is why, there is a chance to get some money back on a rent basis. After a blockbuster like ‘Geetha Govindham', Vijay and director Parasuram worked together for ‘Family Star'. It is why the movie had huge expectations but Parasuram failed badly.
