Should The Dubbing Films Get Theatres During Sankranti Season?
Keeping the straight releases aside, there are a bunch of dubbing films arriving at the same time
The theatre allotment for the Sankranti releases is becoming a big issue. While producers are suggesting that they had agreements done with theatre owners, the situation is quite different on the ground level as per reports. The makers are 'Guntur Karam' and 'Saindhav' are reportedly going in a very planned way and the buyers are quite cooperative with them as well. 'Naa Saami Ranga' team is yet to announce the release date while movies like 'Hanu-Man' and 'Eagle' are trying to get a good amount of theatres by any means.
Keeping the straight releases aside, there are a bunch of dubbing films arriving at the same time. There are not small films as it involve noted Tamil heroes like Dhanush, Shiva Karthikeyan and Rajnikanth who have a good market in the Telugu states. They are planning for simultaneous releases in Telugu and Tamil. The distributors are not able to confirm anything as of now. These movies are from big banners that have strong connections that can force owners into getting the required screens.
The producers council in Tollywood will not put restrictions on dubbing films during festive seasons while dubbing films will be completely sidelined during festivals in Kollywood. The dubbing films can be released later but the OTT companies are demanding simultaneous releases in all languages. We have seen this type of situation during the time of 'Petta' and 'Varasudu'. We need to wait and see what happens this Sankranti season.
