'Epic' A Biopic? Naga Vamsi & Director Differ

A simple love story set against the London backdrop between the Telugu students who went there is what “Epic” sounds like on the outside. And the trailer promised that the film is going to be a laugh riot, with some relationship issues highlighted. However, producer Naga Vamsi stated that most of the film is nothing but a biopic of director Aditya Haasan. Here goes the counter.

In his promotional interviews, producer Naga Vamsi stated that the story of “Epic” is nothing but the real life of director Aditya Haasan. He even stated that he requested the director to tone down certain scenes and put some interesting romantic scenes between the lead pair, so that the film would be commercially successful. However, director Aditya hasn’t agreed to most of the said things.

That said, Aditya clarified that Epic is a fictional story only, but not taken from his life. He felt that only 20% of the story is taken from his life, but the rest of it is created for the sake of cinema. Maybe producer Naga Vamsi is quite exaggerating, or maybe Aditya is trying to be very modest, but it looks like there is some sort of biographical touch to the film.
