A Whopping Rate For 'Family Star' Overseas Rights!

After a decent flick like 'Khushi', young hero Vijay Deverakonda is working with his 'Geetha Govindham' director Parasuram Petla once again on a family entertainer. Bankrolled by Dil Raju, it is VD's 13th film and there are very good expectations on it. The rumored title is 'Family Star' but it is yet to be announced officially.

The latest we hear is that the craze over this project has helped the producer in selling the overseas rights for a whopping prize of 8 crores. This is a huge number and reports suggest that the USA market alone was acquired for 5.5 crores by a distributor. Considering Vijay's recent form, it is huge money and insiders reveal that the movie needs at least 1.8 million dollars to break even.

Vijay and Parasuram's 'Geetha Govindham' was a huge hit and having Dil Raju's brand attached to it makes the film more appealing. But we need to see if the movie gets such massive collections in the overseas market or not.

Last month, they revealed that 50% of the shooting has been completed and the countdown for Sankranti 2024 begins. As we know, 'Guntur Karam' is releasing on 12th January and it is the biggest of the lot and movies like 'Saindhav', 'Hanu-Man' and 'Eagle' are also in the race. Vasu Varma is acting as the creative producer. Mrunal Thakur is the heroine in the movie while Gopi Sundar is the music composer. AS Prakash is the art director while KU Mohanan is the director of photography.
