At a time when the remake of Bollywood’s superhit yesteryear blockbuster “Don” hasn’t done that great in both Telugu and Tamil (Prabhas’ Billa and Ajith’s Billa), director Farhan Akhtar has tuned Bollywood. He took Superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the lead and directed Don first, and Don 2 later, and both spinned huge money with the first part becoming a cult-like success. Owing to that, recently the director announced Don 3, with Ranveer Singh in the lead.
The whole issue of Ranveer walking out of Don 3 after the release of Dhurandhar Part 1, and the makers (Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment) crying foul over the ₹40 crores they have spent on the film, has gone to the Producers Guild. While Ranveer argued that Farhan Akhtar never took Don 3 forward, though he has given him ₹10 crores advance, because his career is in a slump, Farhan’s camp alleged that they are actively working on the pre-production of the movie and stated that due to Dhurandhar’s success, the hero is behaving this way. While the issue hasn’t been resolved yet, for the first time, Farhan has opened up about it.
“Nothing can be taken for granted,” is what Farhan said when questioned about Don 3. In an interview given to a channel that’s headed by a film critic who actually tore apart Dhurandhar in a review, and later got trolled by netizens badly, the director made this comment. He stated that one can travel together with someone for a long time, and still, anything can happen, and nothing can be taken for granted. However, the director is keen to take up Don 3 very soon, but hasn’t made any comment against Ranveer Singh.
