Farhan Akhtar Backs Ranveer Singh & Breaks His Silence!
But the negativity towards Ranveer Singh is out of control and director Farhan Akhtar finally opened up about picking the 'Ramleela' actor for 'Don 3'.
When 'Don' was released back in back in 2006, many were skeptical that Shah Rukh Khan couldn't match Amitabh Bachchan's style and class. But SRK added his own flavour to it and the movie ended up being a blockbuster. Farhan Akhtar directed this movie and it created a lot of records. Now, Farhan announced 'Don 3' but not another hero for the title role. The 57-year-old has been replaced by Ranveer Singh. While the combination is making the fans excited, SRK's screen presence and aura are unmatchable. One simply cannot replace him.
But the negativity towards Ranveer Singh is out of control and director Farhan Akhtar finally opened up about picking the 'Ramleela' actor for 'Don 3'. He said, "I'm just really looking forward to getting it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He's great for the part. He's also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you're filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like 'Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.' That whole thing happened then."
He further added, "It really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it really like, giving it their style and their flair. And he has that, he has that in spades. So, he's going to do a great job. I think the responsibility is more mine now to make sure that the script and the film work out the way I imagine."
Ranveer's latest outing 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' turned out to be a good hit. It was his first hit in recent times as he is scoring one flop after another these days. On the other hand, SRK will be coming up with 'Jawan' on 7th September and the expectations are massive on this movie. It has been a long time since Farhan Akhtar handled the megaphone and let us see how he presents Ranveer Singh as the iconic 'Don'.
