Funky Shocker - Sithara On High Alert

A film centred around the film industry has not yielded good results for Tollywood for a long time. Say it, Puri Jagan’s Neninthe, which is revered as a classic now, was actually a colossal flop at the time of release. Coming to the newly released movie, Vishwaksen’s Funky, the result is similar at the Box Office, though we cannot say if it will be hailed later.

However, inside talk is that many upcoming films from the producer of Funky, Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments, are going for a recheck after “Funky” misfired big time. Naga Vamsi has not only changed his usual distributors but also released Funky in a bigger way than expected. He openly stated that there’s no story, but the comedy is going to burst you into belly-paining laughs.

Having said that, Funky ended up propelled out of screens on the first Monday itself, with the footfalls not even sounding good. This is a big shocker for Sithara as their flop films also make good collections for a couple of weeks generally. They are wondering what exactly misfired and how casting an energetic star like Vishwaksen in a sloppy role could actually cost them.

Well, some films earn money, and some help learn do’s and don’ts. Sadly, the second type of films comes only after burning the pockets big time.
