Whilst Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' is creating sensation all over the globe with its cinematic excellence and wonderful performances from the lead cast, a lot of critics and the common audience were not okay with a scene where a woman makes Oppenheimer read Bhagavat Gita while having sexual intercourse. This scripture is holy for Hindus and it triggered a lot of people and they wanted the scene to be removed from the film with immediate effect.

Sources claim that Anurag Thakur who is the Information and Broadcasting Minister is not at all happy with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passing this scene without chopping it. Apparently, he claimed that the CBFC members will be held accountable for their negligence. He even called out elite filmmaker Christopher Nolan for hurting religious sentiments.

Not just the minister but a lot of organizations have spoken against this scene. 'Save Culture Save India Foundation' issued a press statement saying, "A scene in the film shows a woman make a man read Bhagwad Geeta aloud while getting over him and doing sexual intercourse... This should be investigated by I & B Ministry on an urgent basis and those involved should be severely punished. One is perplexed as to how the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) could approve the film with this scene".

This is the first Christopher Nolan to get an R-rating while the Indian board gave 'U/A' after reducing the length of the intimate scenes. It looks like 'Oppenheimer' is creating a lot of trouble in the Indian market for itself with these bold scenes.
