Talented hero Vishwak Sen and acclaimed filmmaker Krishna Chaitanya's action drama 'Gangs Of Godavari' which was released on the 31st opened to packed houses. People loved Vishwak's acting and the director's honest storytelling. Despite a few flaws, the movie received a decent response and the collections have been highly encouraging.
The buyers and exhibitors are quite happy with this film. As per trade pundits, the entire investment has been recovered and they even ended up in profits. Despite the mixed reviews from critics, the movie is doing extremely well on the box office front. As we know, the official announcement regarding the film's release on Netflix raised a lot of eyebrows. The movie is going to be streamed from 14th June.
A lot of people are shocked to see a good movie that is carrying a lot of buzz getting ready for OTT release in such a quick time. There are a lot of rumors coming out. But insiders confirm that the movie did not incur losses to anyone and it brought career best opening to Vishwak Sen till date. The distributors are in profits and Vishwak proved his stamina once again.
Apparently, 'Gangs Of Godavari' got very good collections despite the elections. The producer got into the safe zone through the OTT deal and did a wonderful non-theatrical business. The team expected a higher level of success but it did not attract a set of audience as well as critics. But Vishwak's star image and performance helped the movie a lot. The distributors are safe and the movie is going to benefit more through the OTT deal as well.
Yuvan Shankar Raja gave the music while Neha Shetty played the heroine role. Anjali played a key character while Suryadevara Naga Vamsi produced this movie. Actors like Nasser, Goparaju Ramana and others were also a part of this film. Vishwak played the role of a complete mass hero for the first time and aced it perfectly while director Krishna Chaitanya too got a lot of praise for his dialogues, narration and his taking.
