Direction Gunasekhar Stays Grounded in Reality
Now, Gunasekhar is trying to make a fresh comeback with a new film called Euphoria. This project is very different from his earlier big-budget films.;
Once upon a time, director Gunasekhar was one of the most wanted filmmakers in Telugu cinema. Big heroes waited eagerly to work with him. He had a special talent for mixing strong creativity with commercial elements. Because of this balance, his films created huge excitement among audiences and in the industry. Gunasekhar was known as a director who could deliver hits with style and emotion.
However, things did not stay the same for long. A series of films failed at the box office and slowly affected his image. Movies like Varudu, Nippu, Rudhramadevi, and Shaakuntalam did not meet expectations. With one failure after another, Gunasekhar faced a tough phase in his career. He even announced a big dream project titled Hiranya Kashyapa. He worked on it for nearly three years, but sadly, the project had to be shelved due to various reasons.
Now, Gunasekhar is trying to make a fresh comeback with a new film called Euphoria. This project is very different from his earlier big-budget films. There are no star heroes, no grand promotions, and no heavy hype. It is a simple film made with new faces. The director plans to release it in February and is hopeful about its result.
Gunasekhar openly accepts the reality. He clearly said that without hits, no one shows interest and now he is in his flop phase. Hence no one wants to do a film with him. He believes this is not wrong and sees it as a natural truth. He said, “People will listen to my stories only when I prove myself again. I want to prove myself. So only I directed Eupheria to prove myself.” Instead of feeling negative, he wants to take it as motivation.
The film was made with a budget of nearly Rs 20 crore, which is a big risk for a movie without stars. Still, Gunasekhar strongly believes that if the content connects with people, the result will be positive.
